About iTrader

What is iTrader.im?

iTrader.im is an Isle of Man marketplace for cars, vans, motorbikes and motorhomes. It is a trading name of Code Lab Platforms Limited. Private sellers and motor dealers advertise vehicles on the site. Buyers search those adverts and contact the seller directly.

You can browse without an account. An account is needed to advertise a vehicle, save a listing or search, and send a message from a listing.

Is iTrader.im only for the Isle of Man?

iTrader is an Isle of Man marketplace. A vehicle advertised here may be located in the Isle of Man or the United Kingdom.

Search can be filtered by location. A listing can also be recorded against a United Kingdom location, so results are not limited to one place name. The Terms explain who the service is for.

What types of vehicles can I buy and sell?

You can advertise cars, vans, motorbikes and motorhomes. Each listing is for one vehicle. Browse them from vehicle categories or search.

Number plates, vehicle parts and other goods are not accepted. Written-off vehicles are not accepted either, except a Category N or Category S vehicle when that category is clearly disclosed. See Category N and Category S and the Acceptable Use Policy.

Does iTrader sell the vehicles advertised on the site?

No. iTrader is an advertising marketplace. It does not own, buy or sell the vehicles, and it is not the seller, the buyer, a broker or an agent for the sale.

Any agreement to buy a vehicle is only between the buyer and the seller. iTrader does not inspect the vehicle, negotiate the sale, hold a deposit or the purchase price, or guarantee the condition, history, mileage, ownership or that a sale will complete. Read the Terms and buyer safety guidance before you agree anything.

Buying a Vehicle

How do I contact a seller?

Open the listing and use Contact Seller. The message form is shown after you sign in. You enter your name, email and message. iTrader emails the seller and sends you a confirmation.

The seller decides whether to reply. iTrader does not guarantee that an enquiry is genuine or that it will lead to a purchase. You can sign in or browse vehicles first.

How can I search for a vehicle?

Use search or browse cars, vans, motorbikes and motorhomes. You can narrow results by details such as make, model, price, year, mileage, location and whether the seller is private or a dealer.

Looking through vehicles does not need an account. Saving a search, or saving a vehicle, does.

Can I save vehicles and searches?

Yes, once you have an account. On a listing, use Save to favourites. Those vehicles are kept under Saved Listings.

On the search results, signed-in users can save the current search and give it a name. Saved searches are listed under Saved Searches. Create an account from sign up if you do not have one yet.

Does iTrader guarantee a vehicle's condition or history?

No. A listing is the seller's advertisement. iTrader does not guarantee the condition, history, mileage, ownership, roadworthiness or completeness of a description.

Vehicle Check is a separate information service. It is not a guarantee either. Use buyer safety and, if you want the information service, Vehicle Check.

What checks should I make before buying a vehicle?

See the vehicle in person where you can. Check the documents, who you are dealing with, who owns the vehicle, and whether any finance is still outstanding. An independent inspection or history check is worth considering before you pay.

Do not send a deposit or the purchase price until you are satisfied. This is general guidance, not legal advice. The buyer safety page sets out the same practical points, and Vehicle Check can add registration information. It does not replace those checks.

How do I know whether a vehicle is being sold privately or by a dealer?

Each listing is labelled Private Seller or Dealer. A dealer listing can show the business name, a phone number when the dealer has provided one, and a link to that dealer's profile.

Search can also be filtered by seller type. Dealer profiles are collected on the dealers page.

Selling Privately

How do I advertise a vehicle on iTrader?

Create an account if you need one. You must be 18 or over. Open Sell and follow the private listing flow. Add the vehicle details and photographs, confirm the seller declaration, and pay the fee shown at checkout.

The listing is then reviewed. Once it is approved, it stays live for the advertising period unless it is removed earlier. A dealer account uses the dealer listing flow instead. The Private Seller Terms explain the private advertising rules, and current prices are on the pricing page.

How much does it cost to advertise a vehicle?

The private listing fee, any current launch offer, and the Featured upgrade price are shown on the pricing page. Checkout charges the price shown there, including any launch offer that is currently available. You are paying to advertise on iTrader, not for a guaranteed sale.

A standard private listing runs for 60 days. See how long a private listing stays live and the Refund Policy if you need the refund rules.

How long does a private listing stay live?

A private listing stays live for 60 days from publication, unless it is removed sooner.

Marking the vehicle as sold takes it out of live search before then. Editing the listing does not start the period again. When it expires, you can renew it by paying the fee then shown on the pricing page.

Can I advertise more than one vehicle?

Yes. Each vehicle needs its own listing. A private seller can advertise more than one vehicle. A dealer can advertise up to the active-listing allowance on their plan.

Several vehicles cannot be placed in one listing. See the Acceptable Use Policy and dealer plans.

Can I advertise a vehicle I do not own?

Only if you have the owner's permission. The account holder must be 18 or over. If the owner is under 18, an adult can advertise the vehicle on their own account and is responsible for the listing.

Do not advertise a stolen vehicle, or one you are not allowed to sell. You confirm authority, mileage and the other listing declarations before you submit. The Private Seller Terms set this out.

Can a business use a Private Seller account?

No. A private seller account is only for a genuine private sale. It must not be used to disguise commercial vehicle trading.

If iTrader reasonably believes you are selling in the course of a business, it may require a dealer account. Dealer advertising uses the monthly dealer plans on the pricing page. Read the Dealer Terms and the Private Seller Terms.

Vehicle Listings

Can I edit my listing after publishing it?

Yes, where the site allows it. Open My listings and choose Edit. If the advert is already live, the changes are checked before they replace what buyers can see. The current advert can stay online with the last approved details while that check happens.

iTrader may unpublish a listing during a review. An edit does not extend the advertising period. The Private Seller Terms and Dealer Terms both describe this.

How do I mark my vehicle as sold?

Mark it as sold from the live listing, from My listings, or from the dealer dashboard if you are a dealer. Do this promptly once the vehicle is no longer available. It then leaves live search results. The listing page can still show it as sold.

Selling before the advertising period ends does not normally entitle you to a refund. See the Refund Policy.

Can I renew a listing?

Yes. An expired listing can be renewed from My listings. Renewal asks you to pay again at the price then shown on the pricing page. That starts another advertising period. It does not happen automatically.

What photographs should I upload?

Use real photographs of the vehicle you are advertising. Show the outside and the inside, and make the first photograph clear. At least two photographs are required. A private listing can include up to 10 photographs. A dealer listing, or a private listing with Featured status, can include up to 20 photographs.

Do not use stock images, photographs of a different vehicle, or pictures that hide damage. You need the right to use what you upload. Nudity and other unsuitable images are not allowed. The Acceptable Use Policy covers prohibited content.

Can I advertise a Category N or Category S vehicle?

Category N and Category S vehicles may be advertised only when that category is clearly and prominently stated in the listing. Other written-off vehicles must not be advertised.

The seller declaration asks you to confirm that any Category N or Category S write-off is disclosed, and that the vehicle is not a prohibited write-off. Hiding the category, or advertising a different write-off category, can lead to the listing being rejected or removed. See the Acceptable Use Policy and the Private Seller Terms.

Can I advertise number plates or vehicle parts?

No. Number plates and vehicle parts are not accepted, unless iTrader expressly allows a category later. A listing has to be for one vehicle only.

The Acceptable Use Policy is the rule for what can be advertised.

What happens if my payment fails?

Listing fees, Featured upgrades and dealer subscriptions are taken by Ripple, the payment provider. iTrader does not store your full card details. If a private listing payment fails, or you cancel checkout, the draft is kept so you can try again. The advert is not published as a paid listing until payment succeeds.

If a dealer subscription payment fails, dealer listings may be suspended until payment is completed. The Dealer Terms and Terms describe failed payments.

Can I get a refund if my vehicle sells early?

Not ordinarily. Selling the vehicle before the advertising period ends, or changing your mind after the advert has started, does not normally create a refund of the listing fee or a Featured upgrade. You can still mark the vehicle as sold.

A refund may be considered in other cases, such as a duplicate charge, a fee taken in error, or a significant technical failure that stops a paid listing from being published. Rights that the law does not allow iTrader to exclude still apply. Read the Refund Policy for the full account. This page is not legal advice.

What should I do if I am charged twice?

Email hello@itrader.im with the account email, the date, the amount, and whether the charge was for a private listing, a Featured upgrade or a dealer subscription. If iTrader confirms a duplicate payment, the duplicate amount may be refunded to the original payment method.

The steps are in the Refund Policy. You can also use the contact page.

Dealers

How do I join iTrader as a dealer?

Create an account, then compare the dealer plans on the pricing page. You add the business name and contact details, accept the Dealer Terms, and pay the monthly subscription through Ripple. When the subscription is active, add each vehicle as its own listing and manage them from the dealer dashboard.

iTrader may ask for evidence that the business is genuine. The Dealer Terms explain eligibility, and public dealer profiles are listed on the dealers page while a subscription is current.

What dealer plans are available?

There are two monthly plans. Dealer Starter allows up to 30 active listings. Dealer Pro allows up to 100. Drafts, listings waiting for review, and live adverts count towards that limit. A vehicle marked as sold does not.

Current monthly prices, and any offer, are on the pricing page. Dealer listings can include up to 20 photographs. Each plan includes a dealer profile, and a phone number can be shown on the dealer's listings. Subscriptions renew each month until cancelled. Compare them on the pricing page and in the Dealer Terms.

How do I cancel a dealer subscription?

Email hello@itrader.im to cancel. When the dealer dashboard shows a cancellation request, you can use that as well. iTrader cannot cancel the payment-provider subscription immediately from the site. Staff complete that cancellation. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. You keep dealer access until then, and a pro-rata refund is not normally given.

The Refund Policy says existing listings may remain live until the end of that paid period. Dealer profiles are shown publicly while the subscription is current. See the Refund Policy and Dealer Terms.

Can buyers contact dealers through iTrader?

Yes. Buyers use Contact Seller on the listing after they sign in. Dealer listings are labelled Dealer and can link to the dealer profile, where a phone number may also be shown.

A signed-in buyer can leave a written review on a dealer profile. A star rating can be left without an account. Reviews are the reviewer's opinion. They are moderated, and they are not a statement by iTrader. Profiles of dealers with a current subscription are on the dealers page.

Accounts

How do I create an account, reset my password or change my details?

Create an account from sign up. You must be 18 or over, and the details you give need to be accurate. To reset a password, use forgot password and follow the email link. Signed-in users can change a password from change password.

Display name, phone, region, bio and photo are updated in Profile & Security. You can also request an email change there. iTrader will ask you to confirm the new address from your inbox.

Can I close my account?

Signed-in users can delete an account from Profile & Security. Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT to confirm. iTrader then disables the account and removes its live listings from public view. A later step removes login credentials, profile identifiers and eligible media. Payments, subscriptions and audit records are kept. Deleting an account does not refund fees already paid.

You can also close an account by emailing hello@itrader.im, which is the written-notice route in the Terms. The Privacy Policy explains how account information is handled after deletion.

Vehicle Check

What is iTrader Vehicle Check?

Vehicle Check is an information service. You can run it without an account. Depending on the registration, the result may include DVLA vehicle data, DVSA MOT history, Isle of Man Government vehicle information, and possible auction references. It accepts UK and Isle of Man registrations.

The records come from third-party and public sources. They can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Before a check is run, the page asks you to acknowledge the current Vehicle Check Terms in your browser. Start a check from Vehicle Check.

Does a Vehicle Check guarantee a vehicle is problem-free?

No. A Vehicle Check does not mean a vehicle is problem-free, safe to buy, or correctly described. It is not a finance check, proof of identity or ownership, or a substitute for inspecting the vehicle and its documents.

iTrader does not create the underlying records and does not warrant that a result is complete or accurate. The Vehicle Check Terms explain the limits. Buying checks are on the buyer safety page.

Safety & Moderation

How does iTrader moderate listings?

iTrader can review a listing before or after it is published. A listing can be rejected, changed, unpublished or removed if it is inaccurate, misleading, a duplicate, a prohibited vehicle, or otherwise breaks the rules. A listing going live does not mean iTrader has inspected the vehicle or verified the seller.

If a listing is removed because it breaks the rules, a refund is not normally given. Where the problem can be corrected, you may be able to change the listing and submit it again. The Acceptable Use Policy, Private Seller Terms and Refund Policy explain enforcement and refunds.

What should I do if a listing looks suspicious?

Do not send money. Use the report control on the listing and describe what concerned you. You can send a report without an account; the form asks for your email. If you think someone is trying to scam you, also email hello@itrader.im.

iTrader can remove a listing and may report suspected fraud to the police. It does not guarantee that every listing or message is genuine, and it does not hold deposits or the purchase price between buyers and sellers. Read buyer safety before you meet or pay anyone.

Does iTrader resolve disputes between buyers and sellers?

No. The sale is only between the buyer and the seller. iTrader is not a party to that contract. It does not provide a dispute-resolution, mediation or arbitration service, and it does not insure the vehicle or hold the purchase money.

Buyers and sellers need to deal with condition, price, payment and delivery between themselves. iTrader may, if it chooses, help pass on a message or look into a listing that may break the rules. That does not decide the outcome of the sale. See buyer safety, the Terms, the Private Seller Terms and the Dealer Terms.
